Well, the Holiday season is upon us. What a great time this is! You meet with your best friends, catch up, have a great family dinner and generally be in a very cheerful state of mind. And with Christmas gone, all we have to worry about now is the New Year's!
But the one thing that you should not forget is getting your zzz’s!
Lots of people have the bad tendency to have the one night won’t hurt me kind of thinking, especially when it comes to the 31st of December, and that’s wrong.
Yes, we know, it’s the New Year’s, you’re supposed to party. And we’re not saying you shouldn’t, just be careful how you do it.
The basic rules are: reduce alcohol, don’t over-indulge in hard foods and try going to bed at a reasonable hour!
You could try some tricks to be sure that your sleeping schedule won’t get utterly destroyed! We recommend taking a nap on the New Year’s Eve if you are sure that you will party past midnight. Normally, naps past 2.00 pm aren’t good, but this time, a quick 30-minute nap will really help you!
You should also try not to force yourself into partying till 3 a.m. You can enjoy this holiday as much as the rest do and feel more rested than them. Just be smart about it! Besides that, you have to keep in mind one thing: Don’t destroy your schedule. If your body is used to waking up at 8.00 a.m, don’t overclock it into waking up at 11.00 a.m. You will feel tired either way, but it’s better to let your body know that it’s just a normal day, you started it a tad bit late and it’s going to end as per usual, at your desired hour. This way, the 2nd of January will feel like any normal day of your life and you will be able to restart your routine!
Whatever you choose to do, just make sure that you don’t regret your holiday decisions. You can balance being healthy and being entertained very well, you just have to put in that extra bit of effort!
Happy New Year!
